Naval transport, built Cherbourge 1865.
1673 tons. Length 63.8 metres, beam 10.3 metres, draught 4.9 metres.
Speed 9 knots. Four 14 cal guns.
Stranded and lost at New Caledonia in 1885.

Built as a wooden transport-aviso at Cherbourg for the French Navy.
15 January 1863 laid down.
25 May 1865 launched as LE CHER one of the Indre class.
Displacement 1,426 ton standard, 2,040 ton full load. Dim. 67.70 x 14.30 x 4.23m.
Powered by on steam engine 150 nhp. speed under steam 10 knots. Bunker capacity 156 ton coal.
Armament 4 – 14 cm.
Crew 84.
Barque rigged, sail area 1,046 m².

From 1866 till 1867 in the Navy Squadron of West Africa.
16 February 1867 arrived at Mexico for evacuation of troops.
28 February 1867 ready for sea at Vera Cruz, Mexico for Cherbourg with war equipment.
October 1867 returned to Toulon.
16 December 1867 arrived at Gorée near Dakar from Toulon.
06 January 1868 ready for sea at Gorée bound for Gabon.
1876 Navy Squadron in Noumea, New Caledonia.
1878 Used as stationary station ship in Reunion.
10 January 1885 lost on the I’Ile Contraniété, New Caledonia.
