Royal Yacht of King George III.
Built 1677 at Woolwich DY as Princess Augusta. Rebuilt 1710 name changed to AUGUSTA.
A third name change after several rebuilds.
Sold 1818.

Built as a Royal yacht by the Woolwich Dry-Dock at Woolwich for the Royal Navy.
1677 Launched as the CHARLOTTE. She was designed by master shipbuilder Phineas Pett.
Tonnage 166 ton (bm), dim. 66.6ft length of keel x 21.6 x 8.9ft., draught 7.6ft.
Armament 6 or 8 guns.
Crew 20/30 men
Ketch rigged.
15 September 1677 commissioned under Capt. Ralph Sanderson

1710 was she for sale but there was not any interest in the yacht, where after she on Admiralty orders of 08 August 1710 was rebuilt
Renamed AUGUSTA. She was used by King George III as his yacht
23 July 1773 renamed in PRINCESS AUGUSTA.
Tonnage 185 ton (bm), dim. 80.9 x 23.1 x 10ft.
Armament 6 guns.
Crew 40
13 August 1818 sold.
