HMS ROOKE The shore establishment responsible for the accommodation and administration of all Naval personnel serving in Gibraltar, it came into existence sometime around the turn
of the century. The present complex was built in two stages. between 1968 and 1978 on reclaimed land. The establishment is named after Admiral Sir George Rooke (1650-1709) who was in command of the forces that captured Gibraltar in 1704.
