Type K (Katjusa) class submarine.
An ocean going submarine of which 12 boats were built.
Displacement 1,500 surfaced, 2,100 submerged. Dim. 98 x 7.4 x 4.5m.
Powered diesel electric 8,400 surfaced, 2,400 submerged, speed 22.5/15 knots.
Armament 2 – 100mm, 2 – 37mm guns, 10 – 533 torpedo tubes, six bow and 4 stern, carried 23 torpedoes.
Crew 70.

During the war 5 submarines of this class were lost.
