PHONIX paddle steamer

Built as an iron hulled passenger paddle steamer by Gleichman & Busse’s Foundry, Hamburg as the ALEXANDRINE for F.N. Bruhns, Hamburg.
28 April 1841 launched as ALEXANDRINE.
About 90 grt ton, dim. 41.9 x 5.7 x 1.95m.
Powered by two low pressure steam engines 70 nhp..
Passengers 500.

The intention was to use her for the service from Hamburg to Boizenburg.
June/July 1841 made some voyages to Boizenburg, but due that the draught was to deep for the vessel, she was taken back by the shipyard.
October 1841 sold to P. Kleudgen and partners.
October till December 1841 used in the service between Hamburg and Harburg.
1842 Boiler was replaced by a new one.
01 April 1843 renamed in PHÖNIX.
Then again in the service between Hamburg and Harburg until 1867 without any mishap.
1867 Re-placed by a new PHÖNIX.
