RESTAURATIONEN.
Sloop built circa 1825 forCleng Peerson, Norway. 38t. L54ft.
Carried first Norwegin settlers to US. Left Stavanger 4th July 1825, overcrowded withcrew of 7 and 46 passengers.
Coastal vessel not very seaworthy, but arrived New York 9th October after 98 day crossing.
Immediately impounded under a law designed to prevent such small ships carrying passengers.
Stamp design of similar ship from same shipyard as no picture of Restaurationen exists.
