In 2009 Argentine issued a miniature sheet of $5 for the 180th anniversary of the creation of the “Political and Military Command of the Islas Malvinas (Falkland Islands) and those adjacent to the Cape Horn in the Atlantic Ocean
The ms depict the Falkland Islands around 1829, with the first house built of stone by Governor Luisa Vernet Lavalle Lloveras. Off the coast is a ship (with an unknown name) most probably at anchor.
The painting is now in the Historical Museum in Buenos Aires.
The border of the ms depicts a map of south continental Argentine and the islands in the South Atlantic.
A fragment of the degree of creation of “Political and Military Command of the Falkland Islands and those adjacent to Cape Horn in the South Atlantic, as given in the newspaper Mercantil No 1635 of Saturday 13 June 1829.
