ROYAL LOUIS 1762

Built as a wooden first rate ship-of-the-line at Brest for the Royal French Navy.
June 1757 laid down.
May 1759 launched as the ROYAL LOUIS.
Tonnage 2927 ton (bm), dim. 61.72 x 16.73 x 7.96m, length of keel 55.71m, maximum draught 8.34m.
Armament: lower gun deck 32 – 36pdr., middle gun deck 34 – 24 pdr., upper deck 34 – 18 pdr., quarterdeck and forecastle 18 – 8 pdr.
Crew 1338.
July 1762 in service.

The design was made by the master shipbuilder Jacques-Luc-Coulomb.
Took not part in any action.
1771 When in dry-dock she was damaged beyond repair.
1772 Broken up.
