Passenger, built 1952 CRD Adriatico, Monfalcone for Lloyd Triestino. 11434Gt. 6418Nt. L522'10". B68'2". Dr24'11". 2 Sulzer diesels, 16100bhp. 2 screws. 191/2 knots. 446 Pass. 2 classes. The AFRICA and EUROPA offered an attractive East Coast service to Italy until the closure of the Suez Canal in 1967. Although smaller than their pedecessors they proved very popular particularly for the leg via Suez. Ship could be either AFRICA or her sister ship EUROPA (Woad) built at Genoa.

24 January 1951 launched as AFRICA one sister EUROPA.
February 1952 completed.
1976 Renamed by owners in PROTEA with homeport Trieste.
03 May 1980 arrived at Kaohsiung where she was broken up by Nan Yet Steel Enterprise Co. Ltd.
