She was a Habitch class gunboat belongs to Imperial German Navy. Iron hull and Barquentine rigged ship.

Built in F. Schichau Shipyard in Danzig. Launched in 1879. Displacement 989 tons. Lenght; 176.8', Beam; 29.3', Draft; 13.9'. Compound engine, single screw. Speed; 11,5 knots. Armament; 1 x 150 mm, 4 x 120 mm, Crew; 127.

She was used by Bismarck in 1884 to expand German colonialism into Western Africa.
Treaties were made rapidly with Togoland, Cameroons and Southwest Africa, which would remain in German hands until WW-I.

She was hulked at Tsingtau in 1905, and sold in 1910.

She was a sistership of Adler (See topic; “Adler SMS”), one of the ships lost in the Great Apia hurricane of 1889.
