Watercraft Philately has in Volume 26 page 45: Sweden issued a booklet of five 170-øre stamps, commemorating Sea Research. Czeslaw Slania engraved the designs and the stamps were printed in Holland by photogravure and steel print. The booklet was sold with a surcharge of .95kr for the benefit of stamp collecting. One of the stamps depicts, in the distance, the sea research vessel ARGOS. She is the third in the series of these vessels. She is classed Norwegian Veritas 1-A-1 stern trawler, ice-C. Constructed as a stern-trawler without a slipway, she is specially equipped for marine research. The working deck astern is equipped for trawling. She has a "wet lab" for collecting water samples, a "dry lab" and a computer room. A low-frequency echo sounder is used for hydrographic, a medium frequency for bottom fishing, and a high-frequency sounder with an integrator for the determination of the occurrence of pelagic fish species. The vessel's primary purpose is to serve as a base for the fishery, scientific, and hydrographic expeditions made by the Board of Fisheries through the Institute of Marine Research. The name is from the 100-eyed monster of Greek mythology, which, even while sleeping, always had at least one of its eyes open to keep watch.

07 June 2013 she arrived at Grenaa, Denmark for scrapping by Fornaes Shipbreaking.
