Le Fret (Pilot Boat) 1996
She is a Marine Service Vessel in the Port of Jersey. Built by Goodchild Marine Services in 1996. She is a 38 foot Pilot Boat.
Le Fret's main role is transport for navigational maintenance and transport to outlying reefs. She also provides transport for official groups to Reefs and other ports around the Channel Islands.
She arrived in Jersey on 28 March 1997 and replaced old Pilot Boat Endurance.
She is manned by the marine section of Jersey Port and provide;
- Transport for Jersey Harbours Pilot Service.
- 24/7 cover for assisting ferries and any maritime emergencies.
- Towage, fire fighting, oil pollution, salvage and search and rescue for Jersey Coastguard.
- Transport for maintenance of slipways and some properties at Les Minquiers and Les Ecrehous reefs.
She also undertakes maintenance of all navigational buoys and beacons within Jersey waters.
