Built as a wooden schooner by G.L. Johansen, Marstal, Denmark for A/S Hans Petersen, (a “Partnership ” of which Captain Marius Eriksen was the biggest shareholder) Marstal.
26 March 1915 launched as the FULTON named after Robert Fulton who was admired by Eriksen.
Tonnage 106 grt, 69 nrt, 150 dwt, dim. 34.70 x 6.90 x 2.45m. Length bpp. 26.24m, draught 2.50m.
Schooner rigged.
1915 delivered to owners. Homeport Marstal.
After delivery used in the trade across the North Atlantic between Newfoundland and Spain and Portugal, from Newfoundland loaded with salted and dried cod and most probably on the return trip loaded with salt.
1922 Sold to L Schmidt, Marstal not renamed.
March 1923 sold to C. Johansson, Barseback, Sweden, not renamed.
1925 She received her first engine of 38 bhp, which was replaced in 1931 with a heavier engine of 50 bhp.
1936 Sold to K.L. Andersson, Skærhamn, Sweden not renamed.
1941 Sold to G.R. Andersson, Skærhamn.
1960 Sold to Roar B.H.Nielsen, Hasseris, Aalborg Denmark not renamed.
1962 A new 6-cyl. Scania diesel was installed of 180 bhp.
1970 Sold to National Museum in Denmark and restored to a three masted for-and-after rigged schooner.
During the years most of her original hull planking has been replaced by new timbers.
Sail area 360m², under full sail she can make a speed of 13 knots.
Accommodation for 8 crew and 35 passengers for longer trips, who are sleeping in hammocks in the hold, when making daytrips she has accommodation for 60 passengers.
Her homeport is Marstal where she was built, and she makes 5 days voyages with young people in the Danish waters or to countries near to Denmark.
