CAMARA DE LOBOS fishing boat

Madeira Island issued in 1980 a long series of stamps commemorate a Tourist Conference, of which one value depict a fishing vessel used at the fishing port Camara de Lobos of which I have not more info.
The port is situated some nine kilometres from Funchal. Camera de Lobos is a lively and colourful port, deriving its name from the marine animals which lives there at the time of the first settlers. These animals were known as “Lobos de Mar” (sea-lions), de place name Camara de Lobos means “municipal chamber of sea-lions”.
A frequent visitor to the village was Sir Winston Churchill, who found there the inspiration for many of his paintings depicting fishing villages.
