Gibraltar HMS (Aircraft Carrier)

HMS Gibraltar was to have been a 45,000 ton aircraft carrier, ordered from Vickers Armstrong on 15 September 1943, but cancelled in October 1945.
The 80p stamp designed after plans, shows the aircraft carrier HMS GIBRALTAR one of the Malta class, the class was ordered during World War II. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malta-cla ... ft_carrier
15 October 1945 her order was cancelled after World War II and she was never laid down.
