For the 70th Anniversary of his birthday, St Pierre et Miquelon issued one stamp in 2012 to honour André Paturel (1942-1987).
He was an important economic person for the port and tourism in St Pierre.
As a fisherman, he founded a fishing company in Miquelon and invested a lot in the youth sailing sport, the reason that a sailing yacht is depict on the stamp.
