Japan issued 1979 a stamp for the Centenary of the Quarantine Service in Japan, the 50 yen value depicts two quarantine officers in uniform of that service, a quarantine launch of the service within the background a merchant stylized vessel waiting for clearing.
The quarantine flag for shipping is a total yellow flag, but the launch shows us another flag.
The launch is now mostly a small powerboat as seen on the stamp and used by officials in ports to visit the ships. The depicted launch has a cabin and is half decked.
