She was built as a wooden 3-mast schooner at the Saltkaia in Kristiansund by and for skipper Rune Torgeirson. Kristiansund.
2014 Keel laid down, the keel is made from a beam from the old Nordsundet bridge, the beam has a weight of 25 ton.
31 May 2016 launched as the IDEAL, she was built after plans of an old schooner built in 1910, at Skaalurens Shipbuilding in Rosendal in Kvinnherad
Tonnage 125 grt, displacement 160 tons, dim. 45.00m, bpp 36.00m , beam 7.15m, draught 3.50m.
Rigged as a top-sail schooner. 11 Sails, sail area 556m².
Auxiliary engine: Scania DSI14 450hp. Generator: Nanni QLS13T 9.5kw.
Accommodation for 50 mostly young people and 4 crew.
Building cost NOK 7 million.
2019 Completed, MMSI 257050180. Homeport Kristiansund, Norway.
After a few short voyages along the Norwegian coast, without passengers, she is mostly alongside moored, waiting for approval of the Norwegian Maritime Directorate to be used as a training vessel for young people.
