1962 - 10th Indo-Pacific Fisheries Council Meeting opens at Chosun Hotel
A subsidiary organization of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Its purpose is to promote the development and appropriate use of fishery resources in the Indo-Pacific region through international cooperation. It was established in 1948 and has its secretariat in Bangkok. There are 31 member countries, including several Southeast Asian countries, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia.
