REINOYFISK trawler

Post by aukepalmhof » Tue Aug 13, 2024 4:04 am

While looking for information for the HOLBERG, I by chance discovered the
possible identity of the fishing boat depicted on several stamps from Namibia.
Back in the early 90's, Norway sold several fishing boats to Namibia, two of
which fit the bill when comparing pictures and the stamp. However, one seems to
be the exact match, the REINØYFISK. She was sold to Namibia in May 1992 and
became the REINOYFISK.

She is still listed in the 2009 Lloyd's. I will compile the information about
here later.

Dan Rodlie

Miramar gives for this vessel.

Before 2014 was she owned by United Fishing Enterprises, Walvisbay, not renamed.
August 2018 was she broken up..

I could not find a photo of her under Norway flag, only on ShipSpotting there was a photo of her, but taken in Namibia, she is still given as a fishing vessel, but all the equipment on deck, what kind of fish she was fishing on I did not known.
