MACAU BRIDGE

Post by aukepalmhof » Fri Dec 20, 2024 8:06 pm

The Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue a new stamp product with the theme of " Macau Bridge " on October 1, 2024. The Macau Bridge is located on the east side of the Friendship Bridge, spanning the Outer Harbor Channel and the Macau Waterway, connecting the three important ports of Macau by sea, land and air, and is a key node in the construction of Macau's urban transportation system. In terms of design, the undulating curves of the bridge's truss space are derived from the soft contours of the waves. Combined with its own beautiful appearance, it will surely become a new landmark in Macau and add color to the city of Macau.

The Macau Bridge is the first eight-lane, two-way cross-sea bridge in Macau. During its construction, new materials, new processes, new technologies, new equipment and smart construction management were innovatively adopted. After the bridge is officially put into use, it will not only optimize the travel environment for residents, but also help improve the transportation network in Macau.

This issue includes a set of two stamps and a miniature sheet. The two stamps show the bridge's wave-like truss space through different perspectives and day and night scenes with simple composition and soft colors. The design of the miniature sheet features the main building of the Macau Bridge as the protagonist, with ferries running under the bridge, showing different beauties of movement and stillness; the background is printed with a silhouette of the Macau map, marking the location of the Macau Bridge.

(The ferry on this issues looks like a catamaran passenger ferry, of which I have not any information.)
