The stamp issued by Wallis & Futuna shows us partly a sea battle between the French and British navies of 05 Sept. 1781, at the Virginia Cape. Painted by Vladimir Zveg.
And also an image of General Lafayette.
The stamp was issued for the Bicentenary of the Independence of the USA.
Lafayette was a general of the French forces on shore, and he never took part in the battle depict on the stamp.
