Tonnage 500 ton (bm), dim. 113.8 x 31.6 x 8.9ft. Length of keel 94.8ft.
Armament 20 – 32pdrs. carronades, 6 – 18pdrs. carronades and 2 – 9 pdrs.
Crew 175.
Building cost £19.587.
07 June 1824 completed in Portsmouth.
1830 she was stationed in the Mediterranean.
Between 1839 and 1842 engaged in operations in China
1842 Captain Edward Belcher was appointed to command her for a 5-year survey of Southeast Asia and Japan waters.
August 1843 he visited Sarawak, Brunei and Labuan, Malaysia.
03 till 04 June 1844 she came in action against pirates in the Strait of Patientia. Capt. Belcher was seriously wounded while successfully defeating the Illanon pirates at Gilolo Island.
She explored the waters of the Korean Islands, Japan and the Philippines.
1846 Stationed on the China and India station.
1847 She was used as guardship.
Jan 1848 at Chatham in Ordinary (reserve)
20 December 1848 as guardship hulked in Gibraltar (other source gives already hulked at Gibraltar from May 1847.)
October 1883 sold, when still at Gibraltar.
