According to some sources the vessel depict on the stamp, her identity is not certain, the name does not appear in Lubbock’s book “The Blackwall Frigates”.
Mr. Hogan in “Log Book” gives that there where two ships with the name CHINA around that time, one built in 1835 and the other built in 1837.
The Belize stamp gives CHINA 1837, so we can be almost sure the vessel built in 1837 is showed on the stamp.
She is showed during bad weather and has lost some sails.
Built as a wooden 3 mast barque at Hull for Duncan Dunbar, London. Have till so far not found her builder
Launched under the name CHINA.
Tonnage 524 ton, dim?.
1837 Completed.
Most probably used in the passenger/cargo trade from the U.K. to Australia. Mr. Hogan gives she sailed from London in 1838 to Sydney.
I have her under command of Capt. E.W.Lively when she sailed on 29 August 1847 from London and arrived 14 December in South Australia.
1857 Sold to J. Delaney.
For this owner the following is given in Lloyds Register.

02 September 1858 arrived Aden from Suez.
06 October 1858, sailed from Colombo for Aden.
22 October 1858, sailed Colombo for Madras (a very quick voyage or she did not made the voyage to Aden.)
