ZENIT training vessel

Built as a fishing vessel by Wyzsza Szkola Morska, Gdynia, Poland for the Stocznia Polnocna Gdansk.
By launching she got the name PUSZCZYK named after an owl.
Tonnage 212 grt, 36 net, dim. 32.57 x 6.74 x 3.04m. (draught).
Powered by an 8-cyl. diesel engine 428 bhp., speed 9 knots.
1954 Completed.

First managed by the state owned Deep Sea Fishing School.
1955 When at Whitby, U.K. part of her crew defected to Great Britain.
1963 Converted into a navigation training ship and renamed ZENIT with homeport Gdynia.
From 1969 managed by the Gdynia Maritime Academy, Gdynia.
31 August 1999 laid up.
2009 Still around, most probably laid up at Gdynia. IMO No. 5287548.
