Malay fishing kolek

Representative of the smallest class of Malay boats used for passenger carrying and small scale fishing, the kolek, is depicted on the 2 cents stamp. These boats have been produced from a dug-out base by building up strakes on either side to increase the freeboard. They are narrower in beam and quite fast.
