East Germany has issued two stamps commemorating the port of Rostock—a 10 pf stamp showing the Freundschaft, with her sister-ship Frieden appearing on a 25 pf. denomination. The latter vessel appeared on a 1957 stamp commemorating the Leipzig Fair. Both ships are owned by Deutsche Seereederei of East Germany, and have an approximate deadweight tonnage of 10,000; an overall length of 517 ft., with a 66 ft. beam, and were placed in service in 1957.
