The 2.50d. stamp features an oil painting on wood in the Franciscan Church at Slano by an unknown master. The ship is described as a Dubrovnik galleon from about 1550, with a carrying capacity of 400 to 500 tons, armed with 10 cannon, her crew between 50 and 60 souls. She was obviously one of the most practical ships of her period; She looks more like a carrack than a galleon.
