Built as a cargo vessel under yard no 1368 by the Krögerwerft at Rendsburg, Germany for the United Baltic Corporation Ltd. London.
Launched under the name BALTIC VALIANT.
Tonnage 2124 gross, 1.018 net, 3.627 dwt. Dim. 103.42 x 15.6m. One MAN diesel engine 4.050 hp., speed 15 knots. Bunker capacity 344 cubic meters.
Crew 15, passenger capacity maximal 65.
Three cranes for cargo handling, two of 10 tons, in combination 20 tons, the third of 5 tons. She has three holds, and has an unobstructed tweendeck over the full length. Ice strengthened, Finnish Ice Class 1A.
18 Feb. 1970 delivered to owners.
Used in the fortnightly year round cargo liner service between England and Finland via the Kiel Canal.
July 1981 bare-boat chartered by C.A.Crosbie Shipping Ltd. of Newfoundland and renamed in LADY FRANKLIN. Named after the wife of Sir John Franklin, who died as an explorer in the Canadian Arctic. She is used by this company between Canadian ports and the Arctic and Greenland, mainly for supply of oil exploration companies during the summer season.
During the winter season, she is mostly used in a service on the east coast of Canada, but she has also made voyages to Nigeria, Algeria. Ethiopia and South America.
During the Southern summer season she was during 1982 -1983 and 1983 – 1984 and 1987 – 1988 chartered by the Australian Antarctic Division and used for supply and transfer of personnel to and from the three Australian Antarctic bases.
2004 Sold to Marine Management, Dubai (also the manager) and renamed first MARIAM III a fortnight later MARIAM VI. Under Panama flag, call sign H3JD.

24 November 2007 arrived at Alang, India and beached on 08 November 2007 for demolition.
