Timor's 10 escudos stamp features the gunboat Patria, built at Lisbon, having been launched in 1903 and completed in 1905. Displacing 620 tons, she had a length of 197 ft., beam 271/2 ft. and a draft of 81/2 ft. Her armament consisted of four 4-in, and six 1.8-in, guns. Indicated horse-power was 1,800, the gunboat's speed being 15 knots. She had a normal coal supply of 100 tons. The Patria was probably the lightest armed of the cruising ships of the Portuguese Navy at the beginning of the present century. SG387
