A Brazilian Day of the Marine issue 1971, depicts the gunboat Parati(P.13), a coastal gunboat of the Piratini Class. Six of these were built in the Arsenal de Marinhado, Rio de Janeiro. The first entered service in November 1970, and the remainder between March and October 1971. They were the Piratini (P.10); Piraja (P.11); Painpeiro (P.12); Parati (P.13); Penedo (P.14); Poti (P. 15).Displacement, standard is 92 tons, loaded 102 tons. Length is 95 ft., and beam 19 ft. with a draft of 6 ft. Four diesel engines develop 1,100 b.h.p. Guns: Two 50 cal. M.G.s and one 81 mm mortar. Complement, 15 officers and men. As the gunboat's number P.13 can be easily seen on the bows in the stamp design, she is obviously the Parati.SG1340

19 October 1970 launched under the name PARATI (P13), godmother Mrs. Odete Tavares Natividade, she was named after the city Parati. Intended name PGM 119.
Displacement 105-ton minimum, 146-ton maximum. Dim. 28.95 x 6.10 x 1.90m.
Powered by four Cummins VT-12M diesel engines, 1.100 hp, speed 19 knots maximum, twin screws.
Range by 12 knots, 1700 mile.
Armament when built 3 – 50 cal. M.G. One 81mm mortar.
Complement 2 officers and 14 crew.
She is one of the “Piratine” class, of which 6 were built between 1968 and 1971 at the Arsenal de Marinha at Rio de Janeiro.
Commissioned 29 July 1971, under command of Capt. Antônio Expedito Kazniakowski.

18 April 1972 she joined the Amazon Flotilla.
03 August 1993 re-classified as a Coastal Patrol Ship

2007 Still in the Brazilian Navy listed, armament given now as 1 – Oerlikon 20mm. and 2 M.G. 12.7mm.
She is a unit of the 4th Naval District (North) and used as a patrol vessel off the coast of Pará, Maranhao, Amapá and the Amazon Rivers, she is based at Belém.
