The 1/2c stamp shows the Geestland the houseflag of the Geest line. This is the fifth ship of the company to appear on postage stamps. The ship was built by Scott's Shipbuilding and Engineering, Greenock. in 1972 for Geest Industries Ltd., and is registered at Boston, Lincs. Her gross tonnage is 5,871, 3,064 net, and 7,510 deadweight. Length, including the bulbous bow, is 489ft. 7in., breadth 63ft. 2in., maximum draft 27ft 8in. A refrigerated motorship, she is fitted with a 6 cylinder Sulzer oil engine developing 12.000 bhp giving a speed of 21 knots. SG833

1986 Sold to Spitfire Shipping Co. Ltd., Cyprus (Kappa Maritime Ltd., London), renamed STARLAND.
1989 For repair between 8 June and 2 August in Italy.
1990 Sold to National Success S.A., Greece, renamed VALPARAISO REEFER.
1994 Sold by Petrikata Shipping Co., Ltd., Malta to breakers in Bangladesh, where she arrived on the road of Chittagong on 10 March 1994.
13 July 1994 beached.
