The 6 cents stamp features H.R.H. Prince William Henry, Duke of Clarence (later King William IV—the Sailor King) who first went to sea at the age of 14 and spent much of his early life as an officer in Antigua. In command of H.M.S. Pegasus, also shown on the stamp, he toured the West Indies in company with Nelson, and in March 1787 he acted as principal witness at Nelson's marriage to Frances Nisbet on the Island of Nevis.
