Built as a cargo vessel under yard No. 592 by Lübecker Flenderwerke A.G. for the Deutsche Dampfschiffahrt-Gesellschaft “HANSA”, Bremen.
18 May 1972 launched under the name STURMFELS, named after the historical novel “Die Söhne des Herrn Budiwoj” of August Sperl. She was the fourth vessel under this name by the company.
Tonnage 11.181 gross, 6.670 net, 13.814 dwt., dim. 153.24 x 22.92 x 10..072m. (draught).
Powered by one 7 cyl. MAN diesel, 12.250 bhp., speed 20 knots.
She was designed to carry heavy lift cargo and carried two heavy load derricks, when working combined could lift up to 550 tons. The heavy lift equipment was designed and manufactured by the Stülken Werft, and fitted in by the Blohm and Voss yard.
Crew 45, and additional accommodation for 50 cadets.
Loading capacity 790.000 cubic feet grain, 715.000 cubic feet bale.
30 Sept. 1972 delivered.
1980 When the company got bankrupt, the STURMFELS was transferred to the Eudore Verwaltungsgesellschaft für Schiffsbeteiligungen mbh, and renamed IBERIA, managed by the C.F.Ahrenskiel at Hamburg.
1984 Sold to Pacific International Lines at Singapore, renamed KOTA JAYA.
1993 Sold by Parnassus Shipping Ltd., Malta to Macedonian Shipping Ltd., Malta, renamed ORANTUS. (Could nowhere find of she was sold or transferred from Pacific International to Parnassus Shipping, or when she was transferred to the Malta flag.)
1996 Sold to shipbreakers in Bangladesh, arrived 20 October 1996 on Chittagong Roads.
Broken up by R. M. Re-Rolling Mills Ltd., Chittagong, work commenced on 26 October 1996.
