Three masted frigate. Training Ship. Built 1909 as PRINZESS EITEL FRIEDRICH Blohm Voss, Hamburg. 1566Gt 525nt. L298’7” over bowsprit. 238’6”. B41’4”. Aux engine VEB Machinen Ausberg-Nurnberg. 9Kn. 5kn under sail. Compl 28+200cadets. Included in British reparations after WWl. Sold 1925 to Frenchman for conversion to yacht renamed COLBERT. 1929 acquired by Poland as training ship for Polish Navy renamed DAR PORMOZA. N Korea SG?. Poland SG527. 763. 1466. 2030. 2307. 2690. Built as a training vessel under yard No. 202 by the yard of Blohm & Voss, Hamburg for the Deutsche Schulschiff-Verein.
20 October 1909 launched under the name PRINZESS EITEL FRIEDRICH.
Tonnage 1,561 gross, 941 net, dim. 91.00 x 12.6 x 6.30m., draught 5.70m. Lengthy bpp. 72.60m.
Ship rigged, with three masts, 23 sails, sail area 2,100 square meters.
Accommodation for 30 crew and 150 boys.
06 April 1910 commissioned in Hamburg.

Her maiden voyage was from Germany to the Baltic waters, the next voyage to the Caribbean.
When World War broke out, laid up in Germany.
After the war as war reparations handed over to the U.K., 1919 to France, laid up at St Nazaire.
1922 Sold by the French Government to the Societe Anonyme de Navigation Les Navieres Ecoles Francais, and renamed in COLBERT.
The plan to use her as a school-ship never materialized.
1926 Sold to Baron de Forrest, but due to the high cost to convert her in a yacht, the plan did not go through. .

1929 Sold to the Pomeranian National Fleet Committee, Poland for £7.000, as replacement for the very old training vessel LWOW.
26 December 1929 left St Nazaire towed by the Dutch tug POOLZEE under the name POMORZE bound for Naksov, Denmark for an overhaul, and fitting in of an auxiliary engines. During the voyage she met stormy weather, and on 29 December and had to anchor, the crew on board when it got very dangerous left the vessel in the boats, but with the help of an other tug they could handle the POMORZE and the tow arrived safely in Naksov on 09 January 1930.
Fitted out with one MAN diesel 430 hp, speed 9 knots

June 1930 she arrived on the road of Gdynia, and was handed over to the State Maritime School in Gdynia, renamed in DAR POMORZO on 30 June1930. The name means Gift of Pomerania.

The next five decades was she used as training ship except during World War II when she escaped to Stockholm and interned there, only a few crewmembers left behind, most of the crew and boys went to England to fight against the Nazi forces.
Before the war she circumnavigated around the world from 16 September 1934 till 03 September 1935 in 352 days.

After the war handed back to Poland, and on 25 October 1945 arrived at Gdynia.
Again in service as a training vessel, took part on many Tall Ships regattas.
During her 51 years as training vessel under Polish flag she made 102 voyages, which covered around a half million miles, and 13.384 students were trained on board the DAR POMORZO.

04 August 1982 removed from school operations.
16 November 1982 handed over to the Polish Maritime Museum, Gdansk, where she till today is used as a floating museum.

It is so lovely to document every ship appear in every century.
As for long time using shipping container transportation method consider the best and safe way to transport any cargo however its capacity.
