Built as an iron screw steamer at La Ciotet for Messageries Imperiales, what was later know as Messageries Maritimes.
17 January 1864 launched under the name EMIRNE.
Tonnage 1.154 ton, dim. 88.55 x 8.45m.
Three mast, barque rigged.
Powered by one steam engine 1.200hp, one propeller, speed 11 knots.
06 June 1864 she sailed from Marseilles and via the Cape of Good Hope she arrived at Port Louis, Mauritius on 30 August, she was the first ship of the French company that reached Mauritius.
1869 Opened the first liner service from Suez to the Indian Ocean, until the Suez Canal was opened.
From 1864 till 1873 she made 40 voyages between Mauritius and Suez.
1873 Refitted.
Later used as a hulk at Madagascar till 1884.
September 1884 sold to Cie. De Tangong Pagam, Malaysia for use as a pontoon.
1891 As such she was lost.
