SAVA (831) submarine and TISA midget submarine

Built as a coastal patrol submarine by S and DE Factory at Split, for the Yugoslavia Navy, (from 2002 Serbia and Montenegro).
1975 Laid down, 1977 launched and 1978 completed.
Launched under the name SAVA (831).
Displacement 830 tons surfaced, 960 tons dived. Dim. 55.7 x 7.2 x 5.1m.
Powered: diesel electric by 2 Sulzer diesels, 1.600 hp., two generators, 2.040 hp., connected to one shaft, speed 10 knots surfaced, 16 knots dived.
Armament 6 – 21 inch torpedo tubes in bow or 20 mines.
Complement 35.

She was one of two submarines of the Sava class, the other DRAVA is out of commission in Jane’s 2003/04 and it is unlikely that she goes to sea again.
The class was an improved version of the Heroj class, the class can dive to 300 meter, and she were fitted out with USSR electronic equipment and armament.
Her (pressure) hull is 42.7 x 5.05m. and the casing is made of GRP.
Accommodation is poor, suggesting the design was intended for short coastal voyages.

The other submarine depict on the label is a midget submarine.

Jane’s 2003/04 gives for No 911: She is the TISA one of the Una class of which six were built.
Displacement 76 tons surfaced, 88 tons dived. Dim. 18.8 x 2.7 x 2.5m.
Powered by two motors of 49hp. connected to one shaft, speed 6 knots surfaced, 7 knots dived.
Range 200 miles at 4 knots.
Complement 6 and 4 swimmers (SDV).

The class was built in Split, the first of the class was commissioned in May 1985 the last two in 1988.
Exit/re-entry capability with mining capacity. The class can carry six-combat swimmers plus four Swimmer Delivery Vehicles (SDV), and limpet mines.
The class can dive to a depth of 120 meter. Batteries can only be charged from shore or a depot ship.
One of this class the VELEBIT (914) was in 1991 transferred to Croatia and since fitted out with a diesel generator.
The class is based in Tivat, and Jane’s 2003/04 gives that only one of this class is understood operational.
