Built under yard No 228 as a ro-ro cargo vessel Skaaluren Skipsvearft, Rosendal, Norway for Hardanger Sunnhordlanske D/S Bergen.
01 June 1977 keel laid down.
Launched as BREMNES.
Tonnage 296 grt., 110 net, 386 dwt., dim. 40.17 x 9.31 x 3.8m., length bpp. 35.2m., draught 3.74m.
Powered by a MWM engine 805 bhp., speed 11 knots.
One hold, two decks.
Ice class C
One 5 ton crane for loading and discharging.
01 March 1987 completed.

After completing used for various cargo routes between Bergen and Hardangerfjord in Norway.
1990 Sold to Government of The Republic of Iceland (Icelandic Directorate of Roads), Hrisey, Iceland.
Renamed SÆFARI.
She was rebuilt and is now given as a pallet carrier, with a tonnage of 367 grt.
Placed in the service between Årskógsandur on the mainland to Hrisey, the crossing takes about 15 minutes, and she could take foot passengers.
01 July 1999 sold to Vegagerdin (Icelandic Government), managed by Flutningamidlun Nordurlands (Samskip), Iceland.
August 2008 Sold to Marin Mätteknik, Gothenborg, Sweden.
13 February 2009 renamed in ICEBEAM.

In use as a ROV and survey vessel. She is fully equiped for seabed mapping in water depth between 5 - 500 meter.
Crew 4 and up to 8 surveyors.
