Built as a passenger- cargo vessel under yard no 788 by A.G. Weser at Bremen, Germany for Denizcilik Bankasi T.A.O, at Istanbul, Turkey.
Launched under the name EGE, two sister ships the IZMIR and MARMARA.
Tonnage 6.042 gross, net?, 2.106 dwt., dim. 122.5 x 16.5 x 5.8m. (draught).
One 8 cyl MAN diesel, 4.160 bhp, one screw, speed 16 knots.
Passenger accommodation: 4 state rooms, 68 first, 72 second, and about 400 tourist class.
Car capacity 34 cars on deck only.
1955 Delivered to owners.

Used in the express service of the company, and also in the weekly sailings from Istanbul to Venice, Beirut and Haifa.
In her later years only used in the domestic routes, mostly in the Black Sea.

1984 Sold to the Turkish Government and renamed ERKIN. Used as a military transport.
Circa 1987 broken up at Aliaga, Turkey.
