FORUM SAMOA ro-ro container vessel

Built as a ro-ro container cargo vessel under yard No. 893 by the yard of J.J.Sietas, Hamburg for the Government of the Independent State of Samoa, (Samoa Shipping services Ltd.), Apia, managed by the South Pacific Forum Line. (PFL)
05 June 1979 keel laid down.
August 1979, launched under the name FORUM SAMOA.
Tonnage 3.838 gross, 1.749 net, 6.078 dwt., dim. 118.7 x 19.2 x 10.6m., length between pp 103.0m., draught 6.6m.
Powered by two 6-cyl. Deutz diesel , 5.000 bhp. (3210 kW.), twin screws, speed 14½ knots.
Bunker capacity 430m³, ballastwater 1.897m³.
Container capacity 325 TEU’s of which 38 can be reefer containers.
17 Oct. 1979 delivered to owners.

The Governments of Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Australia, Samoa, Tuvalu, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Tonga founded the Pacific Forum Line in 1978. The head office of the line is in Auckland, New Zealand.
The company keeps a liner services between this countries.

When in 1998 a new FORUM SAMOA II was ordered the older vessel was sold to Ana Shipping (Torbjorn Benestad, Norway), Panama, not renamed and she first remained under charter by the PFL.
July 2001 the new ship was delivered, and the charter for the FORUM SAMOA (I) was terminated.
2005 Sold to Ora Chelsea Shipping Inc, Panama and renamed C-AKABEY, and managed by Can Foreign Trade and Shipmanagement, Istanbul, Turkey.
May 2006 sold to Benestad T, Andorra, renamed MED CLIPPER, and managed by Can Foreign Trade and Shipmanagement, Istanbul, Turkey. Registered under Panama flag.
2006 Tonnage given as 6.861 gross, 2.586 net, 5.536 dwt.

2009 as given by http://www.equasis.org in service, same name and owned by Med Clipper, Panama, managed by Silkton Corp., Panama.

19 June 2011 was she scrapped by Aceria del Ecuador, Guayaquil, Ecuador.
