Built by the French yard of Constructions Mécaniques de Normandie (CMN) for the Navy of Iran.
15 Oct. 1975 keel laid down.
12 Oct. 1976, launched under the name PEYKAN (P224)
Displacement 285 tonnes average, 311 fully loaded. Dim. 47 x 7 x 1.90m (draught).
Four MTU diesels each 4.500 hp., four shafts fitted with three-bladed fixed-pitch propellers. Maximum speed 37 knots, action radius 1.600 miles at 15 knots.
Hull steel, superstructure aluminum.
Armament 1 – 76 mm. OTO Melara gun forward and 1 – 40 mm Bofors. 2 double Harpoons rocket launchers. Radar and weapons control system from Hollandse Signaalapperaten.
Crew 30, four officers and 26 ratings.
1977 Commissioned.

During the Iran – Iraq war in November 1980, together with her sister the JOSHAN she blocked the entrance into the ports of Al Faw and Umm Qasr, both ports were shelled, and 60 foreign ships could not sail out from this ports.

She was lost during an attack on 29 Nov. 1980 when she came under fire of three Iranian missile boats of the Osa II class. Air assistance was called in by the PEYKAN but it was too late. The PEYKAN was hit by two SS-N-2 Styx surface to surface missiles and sank.
