La GRANDE HERMINE replica 1967
Posted: Sat Oct 10, 2009 9:10 am
Built as a full-scale replica of the La GRANDE HERMINE of wood and moored at the Expo ’67 in Montreal.
Where she was built I could not find, but during the Expo was she used as a floating restaurant.
After the Expo towed to Quebec City and was on display in an artificial pond in Parc Cartier-Brébeufan.
She remained there for at least three decades, but was poorly maintained and sunk in the 1980s, she was refloated and put at shore for restoration, but not much work was done and at last she was dismantled.
The stamp is designed after a photo taken at Parc Catier-Brébeufan when she was still afloat.

There is an other La GRANDE HERMINE replica used during Montreal 350th Anniversary, but she is not depict, not so long ago she was lost by fire.
North Korea 1987 40ch sgN2700, scott? (the other vessel is the TERRY FOX.)
