LADY HAMMOND

Post by aukepalmhof » Fri Oct 23, 2009 8:21 pm

Not much is known about this sailing vessel, when and where built is unknown.
In April 1793 (3 months before Britain declared war on France), the Hon Bridger Goodrich (at Bermuda) began readying his privateers.
“The Royal Gazette” (newspaper) announced the fitting out of his LADY HAMMOND a fast sailing schooner, for a three month cruise against the French.
She was lost in 1798.

Bermuda 1984 $1 sg472, scott?
