Built as a destroyer by Vickers Armstrong, Newcastle-on-Tyne for the Royal Navy
20 October 1939 ordered.
26 December 1939 laid down.
12 February 1941 launched under the name HMS PENN (G77) one of the P class of which 8 were built.
Displacement 1.620 standard, 2.220 full load. Dim. 105.2 x 10.7 x 4.1m. (draught).
Powered by Parsons geared turbines, 40.000 shp., twin shafts, speed 33 knots.
Bunker capacity 500 tons oil, range by 20 knots 3.850 mile.
Armament 4 – 4 inch, 4 – 2pdr AA, 6 – 20mmAA guns, 8 – 21 inch torpedo tubes.
Crew 175.
23 February 1942 commissioned.

The P class after completion was assigned to the Mediterranean.
Under command of Lt. Cdr. J.H.Swain took part in Operation Pedestal.
When the tanker OHIO was damaged by air attacks in Operation Pedestal, she with other Royal Navy ships lashed alongside the OHIO brought the tanker safely in at Valetta, Malta on 15 August 1942.
She is the ship alongside the tanker on the starboard side. (a photo in the book. Battleship-Cruiser-Destroyer on page 333 clearly shows her alongside the starboard side of the tanker)
Took part in operations in the Aegean against enemy positions from 07 September till 28 November 1943.
1944 Refitted and her main armament layout were altered to two-twin 4 inch mounting to replace two single mountings.
Later in the war was she assigned to the Far East, in the 10th Destroyer Flotilla.
12 May 1945 the PENN sank an enemy landing craft in the waters southeast of the Nicobar Islands.
End 1947 returned to the U.K. and placed in reserve.
She was stripped of most of her armament before she was sold for scrap.
31 January 1950 arrived at Troon for scrap.

I have not so much on her war history, additional info welcome.

She is the ship on the starboard side of the OHIO.
