Built as a passenger/cargo vessel under yard No 501 by Smiths Dock Co., Middlesbrough U.K. for Cia de Vapores Correos Interinsulares Canarios, Santo Cruz de Tenerife.
20 December 1911 launched as FUERTEVENTURA.
Tonnage 478 gross, 187 net. 846 dwt., dim. 50.9 x 7.9 x 4.87m., length bpp. 48.8m.
One 3-cyl. triple expansion steam engine manufactured by the shipbuilder, 100 nhp. speed 10 knots.
First coal fired later oil.
Accommodation for 50 passengers.
April 1912 completed. Homeport Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

24 April 1912 arrived in Las Palmas.
After completing used in the interisland service in the Canary Islands and the African coast.
1931 Sold to Compañia Trasmediterránea, Barcelona.
1934 Homeport Las Palmas.
By the outbreak of the civil war in Spain was she used as war transport between the Canary Islands until the end of 1938, thereafter again in the inter-island service.
1938 First sailed to Cadiz before she headed for the Baleares to be used in the service between Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza.
February 1938 she transported troops of Franco to Menorca and after the occupation by Franco his troops also used as a mailship between Palma de Mallorca, Mahón and Palma a Cabrera till 08 December 1940 when she went to Malaga.
11 November 1943 she returned to the Palma de Mallorca from Ceuta, when she was replacing the CIUDAD DE ALCUDIA in the service of the Cabrera Line until 18 March 1944, where after she sailed for Algeciras.
14 January1945 she returned in Palma from Ceuta and was used in the Ciudadela and Cabrera Lines until 07 March 1945, when she left for Ceuta.
During 1949 used in the Piojo Lines between Ceuta and Melilla via the Rocks of Alhucemas and Vélez de la Gomera.

12th December 1949 when due to bad weather she sheltered at Villa Sanjurjo (now Al Hoceima, Morocco).
The next day she stranded on the beach.
It was very difficult to refloat her again and it took till 4 August 1950 to refloat her.
After refloating towed to Valencia for repair by the Unión Naval de Levante yard
08 October 1951 after repair resumed service.
20 July 1961 assisted the LEÓN Y CASTILLO when that vessel went aground near Cape Bojador and she took her passengers on board.

During the end of her career she made several voyages to Puerto de la Estaca as well used for transport of cargo from Hierro Island to the two main ports in the Canary Islands.
01 October 1967 out of service and laid up.
July 1968 Sold at a public auction.
July 1968 broken up at Valencia by the Aguilar Y Peris company.
