The Anchor Line T.S.S. California was built after the War to replace a vessel of the same name which was torpedoed and sunk in February, 1917.
A passenger liner of the latest class, she has beautifully furnished and decorated public rooms consisting of dining saloon, lounge, smoking room, writing room and verandha cafe; also a gymnasium fitted with the latest appliances.
She has six decks, and an electric lift provides communication in addition to two handsome staircases.
She is in the passenger service between Glasgow and New York.
