SONG OF NORWAY passenger vessel

Not a name is given on the stamp but the SONG OF NORWAY was the only vessel of this class which made calls till that time in Georgetown, Cayman Islands.

Built as a passenger ship under yard No 392 by O/Y Wärtsilä A/B, Helsinki, Finland for Royal Caribbean Cruises, Oslo, Norway.
02 December 1967 launched as the SONG OF NORWAY, she was christened by Mrs. Magnhild Borton. Two sisters the NORDIC PRINCE and SUN VIKING.
Tonnage 18,416 grt, 3,202 dwt., dim. 168.32 x 23.96 x 6.70m.
Powered by four 9-cyl Sulzer Bros O/Y Wärtsilä diesel engines, 18,000 hp., twin shafts, speed 20.5 knots.
Accommodation for 724 passengers and a crew of 320.
05 October 1970 delivered to owners.

07 November 1970 left Miami for her first cruise to the Caribbean.

30 August 1978 arrived at Helsinki to be lengthened by a midsection of 26 meter by Wärtsilä.
After lengthening her tonnage increased to 23,005 grt, 12,716 net, 4.525 dwt. Length increased to 194.32m.
Passenger accommodation for 1.196 passengers and a crew of 393.
26 November 1978 left Helsinki bound for Miami.

May 1997 sold to Airtours Sun Cruises, Nassau, Bahamas, and renamed in SUNDREAM.
Thereafter used in the cruise trade in North Europe and the Mediterranean.
2004 Sold to Tumaco Navigation Co, Limassol, Cyprus, and renamed in DREAM PRINCESS.
June 2006 Sold to Lance Shipping Co. Ltd., Nassau, Bahamas, and renamed DREAM.
December 2006 used for cruising from Dubai.
January 2007 sailed from Dubai for Keratsini, Greece thereafter made cruises in the Mediterranean.
December 2007 sold to Pearl Owner Ltd., Nassau, Bahamas, renamed CLIPPER PEARL.
Sailed to Turkey for a refit.
10 February 2008 arrived by the Malta Shipyard, Valletta, Malta.
2008 Chartered by the Peace Boat.
May 2008 Renamed in CLIPPER PACIFIC.
July 2008 detained in New York by the Coast Guard for numerous safety violations
June 2009 Sold to International Shipping-Miami, U.S.A. renamed FESTIVAL registered under the Marshall Island flag.

2009 In-service based in the Mediterranean, Imo No 7005190.

End 2009 owned by Treasure Prosper Co. Ltd., chartered by Quad Travel’s Happy Cruises, renamed OCEAN PEARL
24 September 2011 when Happy cruises got bankrupt, the charter was canceled.
April 2012 sold to Formosa Queen Corp., Panama, renamed FORMOSA QUEEN.
26 October 2013 arrived China and was broken up by Jiangmen Yinhu Ship Breaking
