REINE AMELIA

Built as a wooden hulled vedette (fast vessel) by Chantiers Navals France Gironde, Bordeaux for the Wallis & Fortuna Government.
Launched as REINE AMELIA.
Tonnage 97 grt, 44 net, dim. 25 x 5.1 x 2.2m. (draught).
Powered by two Gardner engines, 344 hp.
1964 Completed.
After arrival at Wallis & Fortuna used in the Government service between the islands, but was found inadequate.
1966 Transferred to Noumea, New Caledonia and after a refit used as a training vessel for apprentices.
01-02 February 1969 badly damaged during cyclone Colleen and her anchorage was destroyed.
June 1969 sold to Vanhalle Robert, a local fisherman, renamed in COLLEEN (Log Book gives the name CALLEEN but that was not the name of the cyclone in 1969) in honour of the cyclone.
Thereafter used as fishing boat, registered in Noumea.
Fate unknown.
