Among the scores of stamps which have been issued by naval charities and what may best be described as patriotic organizations the capital ship is well represented.
The first stamp shows H.M.S. Dominion, one of the eight ships of the King Edward VII class which carried four 12-in., four 9.2-in., 10, 6-in. and 14, 12-pdr. guns.
The class, all of about 16,350 tons displacement with a speed of 18 knots, were considered to be the finest group of pre-Dreadnought battleships in the world.
