LA BELLE SIMONE was built for the American real estate developer William Levitt
who named her after his third wife.

Born in Brooklyn in 1907, William Jaird Levitt joined the real estate business
that his father Abraham founded in 1929. He served a tour of duty with the Navy
during the war, but afterward joined his father and his brother Alfred in
pioneering the post-war housing boom.

She is now owned by a former head of OPEC and spends most of her time in the
Eastern Mediterranean region. She is known to not cruise frequently. She was
once filmed (then named La Belle Simone) while hosting a fabulous party and
cruising around in the 1970's movie "The Greek Tycoon."
